From working to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions to pushing to undermine earned benefits programs, Collins always stands with his Washington Republican backers — not Georgia families.
ATLANTA — Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia is launching DCDoug.com to uncover DC politician Congressman Doug Collins’ out of touch record of putting Washington Republicans and right-wing special interests first — not Georgians.
The first issue on Collins’ special interest-backed agenda? Dismantling critical health care protections in the middle of a pandemic.
Collins has said he wants “to repeal [the health care law] outright” and rip apart its critical protections “from start to bottom.” In addition to the disastrous consequences for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions who rely on the health care law’s protections, Collins has also attacked provisions of the law allowing Georgians to stay on their parents’ health coverage until they’re 26 and the Medicaid expansion that could provide health care to nearly 500,000 Georgians.
Watch Collins attack the health care law and its vital protections himself below:
“After spending so much time working for Washington Republicans and right-wing special interests in DC, Congressman Doug Collins has been in the swamp so long that he’s lost touch with hardworking Georgians’ priorities,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “DCDoug.com will hold Collins accountable for his reckless special interest-backed record — including his attempts to rip apart critical health care protections ‘from start to bottom’ when Georgians need them more than ever.”
